For external candidates, this position has to sit in our Chicago office and will be required to come into the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Reporting to the Director of Credit Strategy Consulting, the Statistical Analyst will be responsible for performing a variety of quantitative analyses for Equifax members, or prospective members, financial and non-financial institutions, across the U.S. Working with other Analytics professionals, Sales, Operations, and I.T. staff, and with management.

What you'll do
Analyze the predictiveness of Equifax's scores and risk models for specific institutions
Analyze the predictiveness of institutions' own scores, models and current credit/risk practices
Evaluate the effectiveness of various methods of combining multiple scores and models, using alternative credit decisioning strategies, calculating the resulting economic impact, and presenting the findings to the institutions
Work with institutions to help develop special datasets to be used to build custom scores and models
Participate in the production of custom consulting analytics for clients
Design of new periodic statistics, proof of concept tools, score analysis, and customized research for clients
Be able to explain complex analyses and findings to internal stakeholders and external customers
Work on a variety of other projects, as they arise
Travel: up to 10% (e.g. once per quarter, usually a day trip or one night stay)
What experience you need
College degree with a quantitative major (mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering) or a business/economics major with significant quantitative coursework
2-5 years of professional experience are required
What could set you apart
Master's Degree
High level of mathematical ability and logical thinking
Fluent English and strong verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of SQL, SAS, R or programming languages
Experience working in credit/risk, data analytics, or financial services roles
Coursework or practical experience with Accounting and Statistics
