Position Summary:

Operates and maintains steam generating, air-conditioning and distribution systems in compliance with Denver code. Observes and adjusts equipment as necessary to maintain a comfortable environment.

Regulate equipment to maximize energy savings. Test water and fuel, adjust chemical treatment, and perform preventive maintenance to keep readings at desired levels and extend life of equipment. Record readings, work requests and phone inquiries to provide a constant record of operations.

Performs safety inspections of equipment to comply with City Codes and medical center regulations. Keep Plant and equipment clean and serviceable. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current Stationary Engineer Certificate issued by the City and County of Denver Building Inspection Division

B. Education:

High School Diploma or GED

C. Experience:

Four years experience high pressure boiler and mechanical refrigeration systems operation.

D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to operate and repair steam-generating and air-conditioning systems and supporting equipment.

Ability to perform preventive maintenance and appropriate testing procedures.

Ability to assess and promptly respond to mechanical failures. Ability to interact with medical center personnel and outside services and inspectors.

Position Summary: o The Surgical Technician II will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. o The Surgery Technician II is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases, pulling cases as needed, and breaking down cases at the end of the procedure. o He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. o The Surgery Technician II performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery. A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: * Current BLS Certification, State of Colorado Surgical Registry required (DORA) * Current CST Certification from NBSTSA preferred. B. Education: * Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians preferred. C. Experience: * Minimum of one year of experience as a Surgery Technician preferred. D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Basic to advanced knowledge in the scrub role and multiple surgical specialties. * Demonstrates good organizational skills. * Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. * Is authorized to handle medications, syringes, needles, etc. and is accountable to the registered nurse for oversight of this practice.
