Stationary Engineer, Plant Operations

With 685 beds, we are home to the only comprehensive Burn and Level I Trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California!

We have an 84-bed Level III NICU and plan to significantly expand pediatric specialty care.

Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. We're affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility; trained 3,000 Medical Doctor's to date plus continuous invests in research and training grants.

Responsibilities

As a Stationary Engineer ypu will Operate and maintain plant machinery, equipment and systems of the facility. Perform maintenance for all service requests, logs, and routine rounds. As well as, maintain a safe working environment.

1.Operation, maintenance and repair of all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.2. Operation, repair and maintenance of refrigerated compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, and float valves, together with all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperatures.3.

Operation, repair and maintenance of pumps, handling brines, and other secondary refrigerating liquids together with all valves, appurtenances and lines used in the system.4. Operation, maintenance and repair of all compressors, together with distribution lines, and all valves and devices for air control.5. Operation, maintenance and repair of all natural and manufacturing gas distribution lines, including all valves and control devices.6.

Operation, maintenance and repair of all water filters, softeners, piping and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution.7. Operation, maintenance and repair of all types of motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans.8. Maintenance and repair of main electrical distribution systems and other systems normally maintained and repaired by Stationary Engineers.9. It is understood and agreed that the classifications as listed in this contract accept full responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the equipment and duties.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

Experience

• 4 years of experience in related field required
