Under the direction of the Chief Engineer I, the Stationary Engineer (Engineer Shop) leads or supervises, if assigned, a crew of inmate workers and helpers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and ventilating equipment and systems.

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer I, the Powerhouse Stationary Engineer operates, maintains, and repairs boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water. Operates, repairs, and maintains refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, and float valves, together with all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperatures.

Operates, maintains, and repairs air compressors, together with distribution lines and all valves and devices for air control. Operates, maintains, and repairs all natural and manufactured gas distribution lines, including all valves and control devices. Operates, repairs, and maintains water filters, softeners, piping, and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including all sinks and toilet bowls, supply lines, and water lines....

California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) is a medium Level II correctional facility with an inmate population consists of felon commitments. The primary goals of CRC are to provide an atmosphere of safety and security to the public, visitors, staff, and inmates.

The administration at CRC is cognizant of the rights and entitlements of all CRC commitments. We fully support and adhere to a guidelines and provisions governing the Disability Placement Program and the Correctional Clinical Case Management System.

In addition to staffing, CRC is also responsible for providing 100+ correctional custody personnel to provide medical guarding and transportation services to Patton State Hospital. CRC also provides Fire Suppression, Conservation, and Community Service assistance to the public.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
