Scripps is seeking a Station Manager to work in a learning capacity and in collaboration with the incumbent General Manager to provide leadership for the station. This includes steadily increasing accountability for all areas of the station multi-platform operation. Also includes working with the GM, station and corporate leadership to develop strategic and operational plans that will result in the growth of the station and its people.
Help lead the execution of the station's key initiatives at the direction of the station's General Manager.
Assist in leading efforts to implement the station's culture plan.
Provide input and leadership with the station's equity, diversity and inclusion strategy.
Assist in creating and developing the station's relationships and partnerships in the community.
Assist the General Manager in generating ratings and revenue. Work with station leadership in creating strategic and operations plans for the station's growth in multi-platform content delivery and revenue generation.
Leading with positive motivation, direction and insight, while holding the team accountable for attainment of operational goals.
Providing visible leadership both inside the station and in the community.
Developing strong relationships with key clients and other business partners.
Effectively communicating to department heads and all employees. Creating a collaborative, team-based environment.
Providing training and development opportunities to team members.
Working with General Manager and Finance Director to ensure all aspects of the financial station are following Scripps policies. Shared responsibilities for station operating and capital expense budgets.
Enforcing all FCC, EEO, SOX and other appropriate rules and regulations.
Understanding and adhering to company policies, and always adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience/Certifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of experience required
Requires a track record of proven leadership success in team effectiveness, revenue growth, brand development, and multi-platform audience growth.
At least five years of experience in a senior management position preferred.
