The Children's Workshop is expanding its State Pre-K program looking for a creative, positive and motivated RI Pre-K Lead Teacher at our Pawtucket school for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment with supportive professional development and technical assistance.

The Lead Teacher will:

  • Implement a high quality curriculum to provide a variety of learning experiences that promote learning across all domains of the RI Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) and are responsive to each child's developmental and individual needs.

  • Create and foster welcoming and engaging classroom environments that encourage children to play to learn. Use Conscious Discipline to support social and emotional needs.

  • Complete formative assessments to plan and refine curriculum and continuously monitor and support children's learning across all domains of development.

  • Coordinate daily activities of assigned Teacher Assistant to ensure effective classroom management and program delivery.

  • Utilize classroom management software to document daily activities and maintain positive family engagement communications.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • (1) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development or Child Development AND achieve RIDE Early Childhood teacher certification within seven years of employment;
  • OR (2) appropriate RIDE Early Childhood teaching certification;
  • 2+ years teaching in a group childcare or public preschool environment; and,
  • Completion of RIELDS Foundations plus either Developing a Standards-Based Curriculum or Implementing a Standards-Based Classroom through the Center for Early Learning Professionals upon hire or within one year of hire.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours required.

  • Must be able to write, read, and understand printed material, and be able to communicate with customers and other TCW team members.

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time effectively.

  • Obtain Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification within one month of hire and maintain current certification.

  • Must submit medical clearance and document immunizations as required by Rhode Island state law within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.

  • Must pass state and federal background screenings as required by Rhode Island state law upon hire and maintain positive screening results during employment. This includes a Department of Children, Youth and Families Clearance Request along with state and federal criminal and sex offender registry screenings.
