This position creates and distributes software deployment packages that are used throughout DHS to install new software products and security patches. These services are used by 6000+ end users within DHS that uses a DHS computer connected to the DHS network. Upcoming three year plan includes implementation of MS Windows 2010,
Office 2016 and rollout of Office 365. Specifically, this position manages the existing 400+ software deployment packages previously created. Additionally, the incumbent creates deployment packages for new software DHS obtains. As needed, the position is
used to distribute security patches to the thousands of computers connected to the DHS network. Services are provided from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday with some early morning work required to configure software packages for deployment when staff arrive in the morning. Finally, this position works to ensure that DHS computer equipment meets or exceeds security standards as required by various federal agencies that DHS interacts with on a regular basis.
