DESCRIPTION

As a working team leader in a Starbucks retail operation, contributes to the University Centers success by providing legendary customer service to all customers, Responsibilities include merchandising, stocking, barista, customer service, food production, on-the-job training and quality control.

Creates the Starbucks Experience for all customer by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintain a clean and comfortable store environment. Basic responsibilities will include any or all of the following: problem-solving in a timely manner, food production, customer service and complaints, data entry, use of Outlook for email and scheduling, placing orders online and by phone, handling staff shortages, equipment and personnel. Will follow established procedures in the absence of the supervisor. In coordination with their supervisor, will be responsible for food production, customer service, controlling labor hours and merchandising.

Operating needs of the department require varied work schedules, (i.e., a.m., p.m., and/or weekend shifts and/or 10 hour workday). This will include opening and closing shifts on a 24 hour schedules during peak academic periods. Employees may be required to take off (vacation or temporary layoff) during scheduled operational shutdown periods, such as Christmas, Spring & Summer breaks. Health codes require prescribed uniform, hair covering, and good personal hygiene. Schedules require extreme attention to promptness and excellent attendance. Employees may be required to change work schedules and locations on a daily basis as needed or for an indefinite time period.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated initiative to: 1) identify unit level problems and/or needs; 2) develop solutions and/or needs proposals; 3) and implement action plans with limited assistance and input.

  • Exceptional customer service and leadership skills with temperament and skill to provide an open climate and create opportunities for employee communication and positive divisional interaction.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and background in placing online product orders, following par levels

  • Ability to operate an electronic cash register/Point-of-Sale system and prepared daily sales summaries and deposits.

  • Proven working knowledge of automated retail business system. Proficiency in use of personal computer and standard office applications.

  • Mathematical, accounting, and cashiering skill to operate cashier, interpret financial data, monthly reports, and make recommendations and proposals for retail prices.

  • Solid organizational skills to effectively manage time. Skill and ability to handle stressful situations, multiple deadlines, and difficult people in a calm professional manner. *

  • Knowledge and ability to effectively utilize employees and equipment in daily routines as well as unforseen emergencies.

  • Basic computer knowledge and skills to perform data entry of usage and waste tracking into online data base.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact and communicate positively with other staff, and customers. Includes ability to build relationships and work as part of a team.

  • Strong writing skills to communicate procedures, evaluations, and recommendations to management.

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skill to identify, research and solve a wide range of work related problems
