Summary:

The Starbucks Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the Starbucks Multi-Operations Manager or Director of Operations with operating assigned Starbucks unit(s). This position is responsible for monitoring Starbucks store level operation performance and the day-to-day supervision of Starbucks associates including assigning work and coaching and developing associates. This is an exempt position and typically reports to the Starbucks Multi-Operations Manager and/or designee, depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of non-exempt associates for assigned Starbucks unit(s)

  • Assigns work tasks and activities, prepares schedules, and ensures that all shifts are covered based on Starbucks brand standards and HMSHost standards

  • Prepares daily orders, ensures units are stocked with appropriate levels of product and coaches Shift Supervisors and Assistant F&B Operations Managers on order procedures

  • Coordinates and conducts on-the-job Starbucks and HMSHost trainings for associates to ensure all associates receive basic skills training to perform their jobs

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all applicable Starbucks brand standards, CBAs, Landlord lease agreements, and all procedures and protocols to maximize brand/landlord/labor relations

  • Maintains understanding of all federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards, and all procedures and protocols to comply with the law

  • Interviews candidates, provides recommendations for hiring, terminations, advancement, promotion or any other status change of associates within the store

  • Uses judgment and discretion to resolve less routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels

  • Supports Director Operations and/or Starbucks F&B Multi Operations Manager in developing and implementing creative strategies to increase revenue

  • Consistently provides direct reports and/or indirect reports with support, coaching and encouragement necessary to achieve business goals, including using existing organizational tools/programs and finding new, creative and effective methods to recognize and reinforce store level accomplishments (ex. Green Apron Cards and company recognition programs)

  • Utilizes associate's strengths and provides ongoing feedback that reflects on progress against individual development goals and business goals

  • Develops and implements plans that will motivate and recognize direct reports and/or indirect reports for their performance.

  • May conduct strategic business reviews with the Starbucks District Manager and Branch Director of Operations

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  • Requires 3-5 or more years of experience as a supervisor or unit-level manager in high volume and/or multi-unit Food and Beverage or Merchandise operations or other related management experience; Starbucks experience preferred

  • Requires knowledge of aspects of Starbucks licensed store operations including Barista Basics, Barista Trainer and LS Leader Training.

  • Requires demonstrated experience understanding and using internal management and financial report.

  • Demonstrates team management, delegation and issue resolution skills and the ability to multi-task

  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and product, service, quality, equipment and operations standards

  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with individuals

Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Terminal Specialist with 5+ years of Pipeline or Terminal Operations or equivalent experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our growing team! * Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level Role Summary: The Terminal Specialist role is responsible for supporting and overseeing all terminal operations, including safe execution, product quality control, receipt, storage, inventory control, scheduling, and assisting in the overall operation and maintenance of the site. This role will involve shift coverage that mirrors the current operator schedules (or as determined). Responsibilities & Essential Functions include: * Safe Terminal Operations. Assure safe operations by supporting the Asset Team in execution of product movements that comply with all company safety and operational procedures as well as local site specific procedures. Work with the Asset Team to prepare site specific procedures where necessary. * Regulatory Compliance. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, safety directives and operating procedures, including PHMSA, Coast Guard, local, state and federal environmental and/or safety agencies. Review PM compliance reports (JDE, Cintellate, etc.) and assist Asset Team in resolving in a timely and compliant manner. * Scheduling Coordination. Manage customer product inventory, nominations, and product allocations based on current demands via communication with Customers, Operations, and pipeline schedulers (Buckeye and 3rd party) to maximize tank utilization. Communicate with vessel agents and barge companies. Vet vessels and barges calling to the terminal as necessary. * Product Control. Ensure all receiving, storing, and distributing of petroleum products via pipeline, vessels, and trucks, follows all product movement, measurement and quality control (M&QC) procedures. Support the Asset Team with oversight of all aspects of M&QC activities including product sampling, testing, linefill tracking, and product specification issues with assistance from the District and Corporate M&QC personnel. * Customer Service. Maintain a good relationship with all terminal Customers, respond to their inquiries and needs as required. Be the shift point of contact and provide pertinent updates to Customers (external and internal) as required. * Emergency Response. Respond to emergencies and operational upset conditions. Participate in annual emergency response training drills as well as local quarterly drills. * Inventory Control Systems. Maintain all computer inventory control systems and participating in any inventory issue investigations. Ensure loss/gain is properly monitored and any discrepancies are resolved promptly. Oversee and/or perform data entry of inventory records and movements into TMS. Support Operations Inventory Specialist as needed to assure all movements are correctly entered and within tolerance. * Annual Budgets. Assist in compiling annual project lists and costs for annual budget purposes at each terminal. Work with OM to assure costs are managed to budget each month including explanation of variances. * Projects. Assist in long term maintenance capital programs and provide project oversight. Support Asset Team with completing and/or auditing HWA / ATW / JSA / LOTO and other project related safety policies & procedures. * Personnel Management. Interact effectively with operators, other engineering and professional staff, and colleagues. Participates in the development and implementation of the Operator Training programs, while arranging for hands-on training, written and practical exams, critical task certifications, and special training (OQ, tank gauging and sampling, gas testing, etc.). Review and manage Operators work schedules and overtime and ensure OT stays within budget. * Terminal Business. Demonstrate a good understanding of the terminal business. Assist Marketing and Business Development as needed to grow terminal revenue. * High Performance Team Development. Assist Operations Manager in leading Asset Team to High Performance certification. Support Asset Team in maintaining High Performance status. * Other duties as assigned and support of other New York Harbor Global Marine Terminal locations as assigned. Position Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Bachelor's Degree preferred. * 5+ years of Pipeline or Terminal Operations or equivalent industry experience required. * Experience with Marine Terminal Operations is preferred. * General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is required. * Experience managing operations helpful. * Up to 20% Travel Required Certificates & Licenses: * Some locations may be subject to the port security regulations set forth by the Transportation Security Administration and United States Coast Guard.
