ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES AND TK-8 TEACHER POSITIONS: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to students in grades TK-12 in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily, complete all assignments, and attend required live instructional sessions.

K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. Teachers meet with students daily in virtual classrooms to provide standards-based targeted instruction that meets the needs of the students, as well as support students in coursework, provide additional one-to-one support, provide feedback, and grade student work. Teachers build lasting relationships with their students through consistent outreach throughout the school year and monitor attendance and engagement.

Additionally, teachers provide interventions as needed to ensure students remain engaged and grow academically. Teacher's classes are generally made up of a single grade level in either elementary (TK-5) or middle school (6-8) students. Teachers are required to connect virtually with students once per month at a minimum and attend/coordinate in-person events once per quarter.

All teachers are required to proctor state testing which may be in-person or virtual. Please Note:

Although TK-8 teachers can be assigned a grade span of elementary or middle school, all interested applicants will need to be willing to teach all grades, TK-8.

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full time teachers work Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm.

We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system. REQUIRED CREDENTIAL/CERTIFICATION: (All applicants MUST have the following at the time of applying) • Permanent California Residence (Must currently reside in Stanislaus County) • Valid/current Preliminary/Clear/Life California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential • California English Learner Authorization- Issued by CTC Applicants who are interested in teaching Transitional Kindergarten MUST ALSO HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: • At least 24 units in early childhood education and/or childhood development OR • A child development teacher or site coordinator permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept temporary county certificates, out-of-state, intern, expired, emergency, short-term staff permits, or credentials in the process of being obtained.
