Job Description

Mayfield Ice Cream in Homewood, AL has an immediate opening for a Stand-up Forklift Operator on 1st Shift. As a Forklift Operator, you will operate a standup forklift and/or other powered industrial equipment in our freezer warehouse to move or transfer ice cream products, pallets and other materials onto trailers or other locations within the facility.

PAY:

• $21.33 per hour

SCHEDULE:

• 1st Shift: Monday- Friday, 4:00 AM - 2:00 PM

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Forklift Operator Certification preferred; stand-up forklift experience required
• Experience operating a cherry picker, high-reach lift or double-high-reach lift a plus
• Experience using an RF scan gun preferred
• Basic math skills required
• Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred
• Be able to effectively work in a team environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to understand and complete required documentation according to SSOPs
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to sit and/or stand and/or drive for virtually the entire shift
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs or assist others in lifting
• Must be able to work in a cold, freezer environment where temperatures vary between 28 to- 30 degrees Fahrenheit (PPE including protective freezer suits are provided)
• May be exposed to allergens
