Basic Function

Candidate is charged with the maintenance and management of material masters residing in SAP. Provide professional and technical consultation to Aramco Services Company (ASC) Procurement, support personnel and Saudi Aramco Standardization regarding the purchase of materials.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible, under the general direction of Supervisor Material Standardization Unit, for maintaining Material Master Record changes and related standardization activities through the Materials Data Management (MDM) and cataloguing systems for the handling and coordinating of material master updates in assigned SAP material group commodities

  • Support day to day Procurement operations

  • Act as a technical advisor for Procurement, reviewing the conformity of requested parts against the required specification criteria to ensure accurate stock

  • Coordinate and advise in the development of alternate sources for supply of Saudi Aramco SAP articles

  • Advise in development of technical data for procurement support and user units in Saudi Aramco

  • Support the SAO Rotatable Equipment Program by contacting manufacturers for the cost economics of repair versus replacement

  • Maintain the reliability and quality of master data held on the SAP material master; this includes maintaining existing catalog, requesting the creation of new items and supporting project

  • Ascertain and confirm Procurement Planners purchase only approved manufacturer's articles for Saudi Aramco use

  • Provide input on implementation of SAP Catalog changes and corrections when required

  • Advise ASC Procurement on the use of Saudi Aramco Standard Specifications

  • Adhere to the Enterprises & MSSD (Material Supply Standardization Divisions) policies and procedures

  • Ensure that proper manufacturer's information is in the material master

  • Advise and assist in claims against vendors or manufacturers

  • Assist Procurement in resolving material master issues

  • Create Material Masters 9ASC (Non-Stock Material) domestic procurement using SAP EP1 system

  • Advise, review, and meet with vendors and equipment manufacturers to provide explanations and details on what is required when providing new sources or alternate sources of materials

  • Provide assistance and work direction to Standardization Advisors III

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical Engineering with maintenance background required, MBA preferred

  • Three (3) years of directly related work experience required (1-3 years acceptable with MBA), five (5) years of directly related work experience strongly preferred

  • Must have SAP experience

  • Understanding of international standards related to materials & ability to interpret technical documents

  • Ability to work with others in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to read vendor drawings and an understanding of how to use manufacturer maintenance manuals and vendor/manufacturer parts and catalogs is essential

  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette

  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
