Successful candidate will oversee studio and staging productions for news studios which include Today Show, Nightly News, MSNBC and WNBC (Studios 1A, 3A, and 3K). He/ she will coordinate with directors, producers, designers and stage crew to execute various productions and special events.

  • Direct management oversight of the stagehand crews.

  • Coordinate daily operations of service, including: lighting, props, carpentry, scenic and design needs.

  • Partner with technical, finance, facilities teams to plan, prepare and execute production requirements.

  • Provide cost effective solutions to improve day to day workflow.

  • Manage weekly / annual show budgets.

  • Update weekly schedule according to production changes

  • Coordinate purchases, maintain studio production inventories.

  • Lead Studio team on project builds and assignments.

5 years of experience working in television studios.
2-3 years of experience working in a union environment.

Strong client service and interpersonal skills, effective leadership style desired.

Able to effectively manage crews in a union environment.

Ability to think quickly and communicate well.

Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere and handle pressure.

Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Extensive computer experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

The role is the lead on HRIS and audits, provides analytical support to associated processes and also provides a level of payroll review. HRIS: user security, process workflows, functionality deployment, reporting automation, and system integrations with various technologies, finance, and other HR information systems. Using Ultipro, you will support various HR functions enabling the business to run more efficiently. Other elements of the role include the following: Primary HRIS Responsibilities: * Act as the HRIS administrator supporting HR, payroll, and benefits through the enhancement of our HRIS. * Act as central role interfacing with the corporate HRIS and Data team in Oxford which includes troubleshooting issues between Ultipro and Success Factors. Manages all data feeds from the USA to the UK, Ultipro to SuccessFactors * Promote proactive approaches using the HRIS to solve business needs/problems while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the HRIS capabilities. Work closely with the IT department, user groups, and vendors to achieve such. * Plan, budget and forecast HRIS needs and applications. Maintain awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future HRIS functionality. * Identify, develop and implement changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the HRIS and payroll functions. * Serve as an interface between third-party vendors and our HRIS vendor for open enrollment and other projects. Must ensure data integrity and working data feeds will all external vendors * Ensure timely and accurate preparation and processing of employee information and changes; including reviewing payroll changes, and related data and reporting. * Keep abreast of federal, state and local law changes impacting payroll and HR, and identify system and process changes to ensure compliance. * Maintain data accuracy and integrity by performing periodic audits, analyzing information from various sources and reviewing system setups. Ensure processes and practices are consistently applied across the organization and comply with policies, legal agreements, and regulatory requirements. * Ensure the HR team, managers and employees have the appropriate training and job aids to support their role in maintaining employee information. * Other HR Operations responsibilities include: Review and sign off of all of the benefits billing including medical and retirement, lead on all operation audits both internal and external, ERISA reporting, Assisting with Payroll management and troubleshoots payroll issues including tax and payroll audits, calculates local bonus plans in partnership with Finance and HR. This role is the key manager of all HR Standard Operating Procedures. * Foster an inclusive and engaging environment by encouraging creativity, collaboration, and invention; create development opportunities and individualized development plans for staff and training to enhance skills and foster growth. * Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff. Education and Experience: * Prefer five plus years of related experience within a professional environment. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * In-depth knowledge of HR information systems, security roles, and reporting. * Experience in participating in or leading audits, financial or operational * Understanding of various retirement plans, ERISA regulations, and plan audits. * Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial reconciliations either in payroll or benefits. * Advanced knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of financial systems is also preferred. * Business acumen and possess current knowledge of relevant employment laws and practices, especially regulations affecting areas of responsibility. * Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills to interact effectively and maintain relationships with a variety of people and personalities inside and outside the organization. Able to effectively handle interactions at all levels and to respond appropriately in sensitive situations. * Extensive payroll knowledge including processes, procedures, and compliance. * Strong analytical skills and ability to assess current processes for effectiveness with a focus on the customer's perspective. * Strong attention to detail. * Demonstrated ability to use technology, data, information and analytics to assess and develop better systems, processes, and programs. Ability to present technical information in an easy to understand format. * Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing to all levels of people inside and outside the organization. * Work as an effective and proactive team-player; understands the importance of supporting the HR Department, employees, and clients. * Able to be flexible and productive in an environment with regular interruptions. * Understand and maintain confidential nature of the organization, applicant, employee and client information, including and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
