JOB TITLE:
Stage Technician, Senior
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide senior-level technical assistance for theatre, auditorium, concert hall, cultural affairs, production companies, and outside school organizations by setting up and/or operating stage, lighting and sound equipment; provide custodial services for designated facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, analyze, interpret, build and safely operate complex and advanced theatrical stage lighting and audio systems for performances, events, rehearsals and classes.
Provide technical assistance for performances and events, including troubleshooting and problem solving during performances.
Provide and assemble equipment for performances, rehearsals and classes including electrical, lighting, sound, and other stage equipment; assist with load-in/out of shows.
Inspect temporary technical equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
Train assigned support staff in proper usage of lighting and sound equipment.
Ensure that facilities are locked and secure after performances.
Effectively communicate with supervisor, support staff and members of performance group.
Perform custodial duties according to established standards for cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities in a designated area.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook. Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 3 years of related experience including technical theatre with stage lighting design or audio design and basic electronics and custodial experience
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing to work at heights above 12 feet.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated competency with digital audio consoles and/or ETC or GrandMA lighting consoles.
Demonstrated competency in stage craft I.E. single point fly systems- spot light operations-projections.
