Our Opportunity:

Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect is a new web based product for Registered Independent Advisors that offers a simplified approach to portfolio management for Schwab accountsincluding features like Performance Reporting, Billing and Integrated Dashboards.

This position encompasses all the responsibilities of software development in an agile environment. As a member of a development team, you will be responsible for developing simple and innovative solutions against a product backlog with the goal of delivering efficiently against your assigned tasks. Your work may involve any and all activities required to both deliver functional code and deploy that software into production. Your work will need to adhere to Schwab engineering development best practices. You will also mentor less experienced engineers and work with engineering management to facilitate team their career development.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with product owner to define Agile stories for new capabilities.

  • Perform design reviews and code reviews.

  • Hands on coding, unit testing and production issue troubleshooting.

  • Deliver high quality code and unit test automation

  • Facilitate discussions around effective functional test strategies for your stories.

  • Lead design and implementation of new stories and bug fixes.

  • Participate in product roadmap discussions and long term planning for your team.

  • Participate in the development of tools and practices that will increase the efficiency of your team.

  • Mentor and assist more junior staff in the team.

  • Serve as main point of contact and subject matter expert for your functional domain.

What you have:


  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • 5+ years' development experience on the Windows platforms using C# , Java and/or C++.

  • 3+ years' experience in COM, .NET,

  • 2+ years' experience developing web services preferably REST services

  • Very strong object oriented design skills with proven track record of well-engineered design.

  • Self-starter who can grasp difficult concepts quickly and contribute at multiple coding levels.

  • Experience working with databases (SQL, Mongo DB)

  • Experience and desire to mentor junior staff.

  • Experience as a developer within a scrum environment

  • BS or higher in computer science or related technical field


  • Familiarity with Micro-Services architecture and Cloud technology (PCF/SpringBoot) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool stack (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo)

  • Experience with LINQ, Message Bus and Mongo DB is a plus

  • Prior Financial Services experience is a plus

The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire an Applications Support Engineerfor purposes of coordinating field activity, performing MS SQL and Oracle database data mining, data analysis, compiling reports and assisting with resolving technical problems within the Sensus RF network. You will provide the technical support & leadership in helping utilities and municipalities deploy wireless metering infrastructure and meters.
