Staff/Principal QE Engineer

As a founding QE engineer on the Aerospike Cloud team, your role is pivotal in developing the Aerospike Cloud Platform - the company's multi-cloud multi-tenant database as a service cloud offering. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver innovative solutions to our global customer base.

Responsibilities

● Establish and maintain backend and frontend automation testing infrastructure

● Develop automated test scripts and frameworks for backend and frontend testing

● Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and deployment

● Design and execute test plans and test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and usability

● Troubleshoot and debug test failures, and identify root causes of issues

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies, priorities, and objective

● Advocate for quality practices and drive continuous improvement in testing

processes and methodologies

Required skills and qualifications

● Minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality engineering and testing

● Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

● Experience with automation testing tools and frameworks like Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, Jest, React Testing Library

● Knowledge of backend technologies and frameworks such as RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Spring Boot

● Familiarity with frontend technologies and frameworks like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React

● Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI, or GitLab CI

● Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling

● Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI

● Experience with test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr

● Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

● Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.

● Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

● Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to derive insights from test data and metrics

● Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and automated provisioning

● Proven leadership abilities and initiative in driving the establishment of testing infrastructure and processes

● Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Preferred skills and qualifications

● Experience with database testing

● Experience with code analysis tools and static code analysis techniques

● Familiarity with machine learning testing techniques and frameworks

● Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, Go

● Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester).
