Role: Senior UX Content Strategist

We're looking for an Staff UX Content Strategist to join the UX Content Strategy team.

The ideal candidate knows what makes a good user experience, understands the role of copy and content in product design, and finds examples in their real life to draw ideas from.

As part of the UX team, UX Content Strategists work closely with UX Product Designers and UX Researchers to develop copy and content for products on mobile and desktop, design delightful experiences, and deliver on Chegg's brand values.

Candidates should have experience working in an iterative process while ensuring clarity, conciseness and consistency, and getting legal approval. They should be able to present ideas clearly and confidently, critique other's work in a constructive way, and receive input.

In addition, UX Content Strategists are responsible for driving content-led initiatives, optimizing with A/B tests, and maintaining quality and guidelines.

Bonus for an interest and familiarity with trends in learning tools or other apps that college students use and love!


  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, product marketers and engineers to evaluate interaction flows and make content suggestions

  • Plan and write content for responsive Web, and native mobile interaction flows

  • Conduct competitive audits and present ideas for using content to achieve project goals

  • Share work and give feedback to other content writers

  • Apply and evolve existing content standards and elevate overall work quality

  • Conduct content audits, document usages and make recommendations for standardization


  • Bachelor's or greater degree in design, user experience, writing or a related field or equivalent training or experience

  • 8 years experience writing user-facing content, including 4+ years specifically for web or mobile

  • Writing samples for user interfaces, microcopy, user education or style guides

  • Past experience working with user research, product managers or product designers

  • Understanding of people-centered user experience


  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Professional, positive, and enthusiastic

  • Collects examples of good user experiences to draw content ideas from

  • Ability to present work, describe thinking, and collect feedback then revise work accordingly
