Under the direction of a radiologist, the Ultrasonographer performs diagnostic medical ultrasound examinations accurately, independently, and efficiently. AH123
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Completion of a 2 year or a 4 year program in Ultrasound that is accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Administration Branch of the American Medical Association, and includes a 12-month clinical internship (or equivalent program as determined by the Diagnostic Imaging Director).
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Advanced Registry in the modality within 12 months of hire date
CPR or BLS is required, must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Requires 30 CME credits every 3 years.
Able to move and position patients in a safe manner.
Able to move freely about the department and hospital.
Able to differentiate color, preferred.
