As the Staff Trainer/Mentor for MANN Residential you will:
Participate in planning and developing content for residential/school orientation and training (exclusive of RN-specific training) for new staff and for ongoing in-service training.
Plan and prepare training content for review and approval.
Deliver training in classroom, teach unit-based small groups or provide 1:1 mentoring as needed.
Teach and demonstrate skills in CPR, patient/resident de-escalation, and aggression management techniques.
Assess trainees' performance and share appropriate feedback to the supervisors/managers.
Complete and maintain training documentation; update and maintain training materials.
Requires: Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of training and leadership experience in order to develop skills in education/training needs assessment, writing, group presentation, computer software skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, and comprehensive knowledge of the content covered in program orientation and clinical in-service training.
Four additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Interpersonal skills to motivate, mentor, and train staff in a variety of behavioral health programs and settings; and to demonstrate strong clinical leadership skills and effective group facilitation techniques.
Working Conditions: Works in patient care environment where there are occasional exposures to aggressive patients/residents.

VIEW JOBS 10/25/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-23T00:00 In one sentence, this VISTA's role is make contact with individual programs and offer support via the many resources Maryland MENTOR has at its fingertips. Chief among outreach priorities will be in conjunction with coordinating with programs and agencies in Baltimore City as part of the Baltimore Mayor's 1000 Mentor Challenge, a joint city-wide effort led by Maryland MENTOR to recruit and engage 1000 mentors from City government and communities within Baltimore City. The additional resources this VISTA will be raising awareness on include but are not limited to: The National Mentoring Resource Center, the National Quality Mentoring System, the Mentoring Connector, the Maryland State Mentoring Institute, trainings, conferences, etc. This role is an extension of outreach but with a finer point as this VISTA will be the primary point of contact and chief recruiter for two of the affiliate's most important tools: The National Mentoring Resource Center (NMRC) and the Mentoring Connector. This team member will assist the Maryland MENTOR team of consultants manage the NMRC backend, recruit for the program and field all questions related to applying to and administration of the platform. This team member will also be responsible for executing the signature project - The Baltimore City Mayor's 1000 Mentor Challenge in conjunction with recruitment efforts across the aforementioned platforms.
