The Behavioral Health Counselor Post Doc therapist provides direct clinical psychological service to the UCR campus. The primary responsibility of this position is to help manage initial intakes and initial client disposition and referrals.
This position may also provide individual, couple, and group therapy, crisis intervention and consultation. A successful applicant will demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion. This is a one year position with the possibility of extension with available funding at the time.
Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience. Required Doctorate degree (Ph.D./Psy.D) in Psychology or related field. Preferred
Experience Requirement Experience working in a university counseling center Required 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required Ability to use PnC EMR Required
Knowledge and understanding of clinical counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards.
Ability to perform intake evaluations.
Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients' rights.
Assessment, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative manner with a diverse client group.
Knowledge of business software and specialized applications/systems used in behavioral health settings.
Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
