ServiceNow is looking for Senior-level Technical Writer to join our Information Development group in Santa Clara. The Info Dev group is made up of dedicated technical communications professionals across multiple areas of expertise. Info Dev creates product documentation, troubleshooting materials, videos and blogs, as well as contextual help and user assistance content.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Create product documentation for end users and system administrators

  • Author in a variety of environments, primarily DITA/XML

  • Research, write, and ensure the accuracy of content that covers current and future releases of our product

  • Work closely with multiple development teams in an Agile environment

  • Conduct peer reviews of documentation

  • Continuously improve documentation by responding to and incorporating feedback from customers and internal users

  • Collaborate with other information developers to produce and share content for different types of deliverables (blogs, product documentation, knowledge base, video)

To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

  • 8+ years experience as a Technical Writer with a demonstrated progressive growth in responsibilities

  • Proven experience making technical content accessible to audiences with mixed levels of expertise

  • Ability to learn highly technical products quickly, using pre-release software and internal documentation

  • Understanding of source control systems and maintaining multiple versions of content

  • Experience working in Scrum/Agile development environments

  • Ability to obtain information through research, interviews, and experimentation

  • Ability to work with geographically distributed team members and developers

  • Motivation and ability to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Self-direction, flexibility, and an eagerness to learn

  • Working knowledge of DITA and topic-based writing

  • Proven experience documenting cloud-based software

  • Proven experience mentoring less-experienced writers

TAMs guide the customer through all phases of the customer journey, providing expertise and guidance to ensure that ThreatINSIGHT capabilities deliver maximum value to our clients. They work directly with clients to anticipate, understand, enumerate, and address their technical requests and concerns and serve as strategic advisors giving input on security operations and incident response workflows as well as product functionality, technology, and implementation. Finally, they also manage customer incidents, from notification to resolution, and follow up to ensure either product improvement within ThreatINSIGHT or operational improvement within the customer's security environment. In addition to owning the customer journey, TAMs are the central point of communication and support between clients and internal Gigamon teams. You will act as a liaison between the customer, the sales team, and the security and software engineering teams and be responsible for monitoring and ensuring SLA response times. This includes documenting and tracking progress on requests as well as identifying and solving customer roadblocks or communicating them to the team for broader investigation. We are looking for a talented, driven and execution-focused individual contributor. Ideally, you'll exhibit a can-do, customer-centric attitude, and approach work with vigor and determination. You should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively in a professional, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be excellent at driving priorities and multitasking. Core Position Description (detail): * Drive effective communications with clients and internal teams. * Proactive engagement with clients to provide clear and consistent experiences for capability deployment, planning, adoption, training, integration, and technical issue resolution. * Effectively scope engagements through critical customer conversations related to network security and network architecture * Establish a clear, regular, and effective communications cadence with the client; Conduct periodic stakeholder meetings and quarterly business reviews; maintain an accurate record of discussion and action items and provide monthly account reporting to internal stakeholders. * Develop a continuous product education and awareness program, delivering training sessions as required. * Track customer satisfaction KPIs. Develop and manage action plan to continuously improve these metrics. * Troubleshoot customer concerns and work with management team to ensure that critical issues are documented and escalated in an expeditious manner for resolution. * Serve as a customer advocate within Gigamon and report customer feedback internally to Account Management, Product Management, and Engineering. * Develop solutions to solve customer issues, leading towards product experience enhancements * Travel to customer locations as needed. Position Requirements: * BA/BS quantitative/technical degree, or equivalent. * 5+ years of experience with one or more of the following: * Incident response team * Threat hunting team * Security Operations Center (SOC) * Red/penetration testing team * Or similar background * 5+ years of experience managing external vendor/client relationships, cross-functional teams, programs, or products. * 3+ years in customer facing support or consulting role (professional services, account management, project management, customer service, etc.). * Familiarity with multiple network, host-based, and log analysis security applications and tools, such as: * Network- and host-based intrusion detection systems * Network and host assessment/scanning tools * Endpoint agents * SIEM systems * Host-based prevention software * Other security software packages * 3-5 years of experience with network and security infrastructure, architecture, design, and troubleshooting including in-house and proprietary network monitoring TAP and SPAN architectures, including Cisco, Gigamon, A10, and F5 products and common deployment approaches and pitfalls. * 1-2 years of experience developing in basic scripting languages like Python * Familiarity with REST APIs, API integrations with SIEM and other technologies * Familiarity with JSON, parsing and integrations into other structured data sets * Proven track record in coordinating internal departments and resources to solve complex customer support or implementation problems. * Prefer industry certification such as Security+, CCNA, CISSP, CEH, GCIH, etc. * Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. * Strong critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving abilities. * Desire to bring new customers to the table. * Willingness to operate in a 24x7 support model as an escalation point of contact.
