In this role you will be responsible for driving the successful execution of complex technical programs and projects within the Apex Technology team. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that Apex delivers innovative financial software solutions predictably that meet business and customer needs.

Your exceptional leadership skills and strategic mindset will play a critical role in shaping our technical roadmap and driving continuous improvement across our technical program management function. Duties/Responsibilities Lead Apex’s hybrid cloud programs and be accountable for the successful delivery of the programs, processes, projects, and tools in your portfolio that enable Apex to operate its infrastructure with higher predictability, clarity, efficiency, and reliable scale. Develop programs for availability, reliability and performance and drive initiatives across Apex Engineering to ensure we are consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations for these key aspects of the platform capabilities.

Facilitate and coordinate annual and quarterly fiscal and project planning cycles, new budget requirements for SW/HW initiatives, and ongoing project budget tracking. Define SLOs and drive regular communication of insights to senior leaders within Apex around infrastructure platform readiness and risks through data and dashboards. Identify, develop, and put into practice new tools and processes that enable Apex to scale and optimize its hybrid cloud infrastructure.

Negotiate with and manage relationships with software and hardware vendors to ensure service levels are maintained and costs are controlled. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations on vendors and technology solutions. Partner closely with peers, leaders, and stakeholders across product, engineering, finance, business, and customer support teams to build and drive the strategic vision for your area and programs.

Have a bias for action to tackle ambiguity and deliver clarity whether rolling up your sleeves on a project or resolving conflicts and driving an accountable culture with your team. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to datacenter, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure. Generate energy to motivate the team throughout the entire product cycle.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (information systems, engineering), financial management, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or MBA a plus. 8 years of program management or hands-on project management experience with on-prem infrastructure and/or cloud services. Financial industry experience is a plus.

Proven track record of full-lifecycle ownership of successful build-out, maintenance, and sunset programs/projects for on-prem infrastructure, cloud services, and hybrid environments. Demonstrated experience working with business stakeholders, senior leaders, and clients within a large organization. Experience presenting to senior management and independently driving presentation preparation.

Experience with ITIL, Lean, Agile, or similar frameworks. Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments. Certifications such as PMP, ISACA, CAPM and demonstrated practice, preferred Management experience building B2B SaaS solutions; Financial Services (Payments, Brokerage, Wealth Management, Trading, Clearing, Settlements, etc) industry experience is a strong plus.

Required Skills/Abilities Excellent leadership skills with demonstrable experience developing engineering wide programs and the ability to drive them across cross-functional teams. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication. Strong project management skills with certifications in PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent preferred.

Comfortable using collaboration tools such as Office Suite, Slack, JIRA, Confluence, etc. Understanding of Agile/SAFE practices, with a strong preference for best practices and incremental delivery. Work Environment This job operates in an office environment.
