The Staff Tax Accountant provides support for various income and non-income tax compliance and tax projects. Works with a variety of individuals internally in different departments.
Hybrid work arrangement. Requirement to go into the Portland, Oregon office once a week; current in-office day is Wednesday and is subject to change.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain fixed asset system for both tax and GAAP
Complete monthly reconciliations of fixed asset accounts
Prepare and file indirect and direct corporate tax returns
Update, maintain and organize tax records and filings
Assist in responding to ad hoc requests
Complete tax research, audit preparation and system testing
Safeguard operations by keeping sensitive information confidential
Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting and tax procedures
Great attention to detail
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize applicable Microsoft applications to meet work needs
Must possess effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and be comfortable interacting with executive-level management
Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter and able to work without significant oversight, but also eager to learn, willing to "pitch in" where needed and try new things

PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $50,593 - $81,593
