Work with Marketing and cross-functional teams to define the requirements and specifications of Synaptics' SoC and its application platforms. Be the stakeholder in the system engineering aspects of ASIC design, such as pin planning, electrical and package specifications.
Provide technical support to key customers throughout their product development cycle. Perform schematic design, simulation and supervise PCB layout of Synaptics SoC reference platforms. Work on high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit design and troubleshooting.
Work on high-speed interface electrical compliance test and debugging, such as HDMI, PC1e, eMMC, SDIO. Work on EMC compliance, power and thermal evaluation of related consumer multimedia products. Prototype board bring up and testing, debugging and analysis on customers' platforms using general purpose test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and logic analyzers. Write technical collaterals and presentations such as application notes.
Bachelor's degree / foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline; plus a minimum of five (5) years of employment experience in the job offered, System Application Engineering related, or related occupation.
Experience in design verification and performance evaluation using lab equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and logic analyzer); embedded system hardware development on complex SoC prototype platform design, bring up, troubleshooting, validation and failure analysis; experience in high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit design and troubleshooting; experience with high-speed interface electrical compliance test and debugging, such as HDMI, PCIe, eMMC, SDIO; experience with EMC compliance, power and thermal evaluation of related consumer multimedia products; good understanding of the full design cycle and manufacturing requirements of the end products, proven track record of successful MP deliveries.
