Zendesk is a rapidly growing company with an amazing product and exceptional employees. We're looking for a dynamic Staff Software Engineer to help build our Self Service platform team in Madison!
As part of the Foundation team at Zendesk you'll be building and maintaining a system that will be at the core of our new engineering platform. This system will coordinate cloud resource provisioning requests to APIs created by other Foundation teams. You will be defining the self-service interface that will help enable our engineering teams to easily provision resources in the cloud that align with Zendesk standards. You'll put your deep experience in working with, and building APIs to use in an area that will immediately provide business value.

Collaborate with your Foundation platform teammates in San Francisco, Dublin and Melbourne
Work in an agile development environment and believe that pragmatism always triumphs over dogmatism
Use a wide variety of technologies, wear lots of hats (actual hats optional)
Conduct periodic (incentive based) on-call duties for the things you build
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Strong coding skills in at least one programming language, and a desire to pick up more (we work primarily in Ruby, Python, and Go)
Interested in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
Systematic problem solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership
In-depth knowledge of and experience building APIs
Strong understanding of AWS (or another cloud provider) products and services
Great communication skills (written and verbal) that will enable successful collaboration with all of our teams globally
