Role Overview

Fabric is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (with Node and MongoDB focus) based in New York City. Join our mission to build systems that improve the healthcare experiences for millions of patients and thousands of healthcare providers nationwide.

We're looking for passionate and curious contributors eager to collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts, and customers. Backed by industry-leading investors such as Thrive Capital and GV (Google Ventures), we're working to provide care for everyone, everywhere.

This hybrid role is based in our New York City (Chelsea) office and requires 2-3 days per week in the office.

Here's what you'll do

• Lead the design and development of high-performance web applications utilizing cutting-edge technologies

• Act as a key resource for our internal teams and external partners by sharing your deep knowledge and insights into our products and the technical landscape

• Engage actively in agile development processes, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional software solutions

• Mentor other engineers, providing guidance through code reviews and sharing constructive feedback to foster their professional growth

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack web application development in any language as part of a cross-functional agile team

• 2+ years of professional experience with NodeJS and MongoDB or similar nosql database

• 4+ years of experience leading and mentoring other engineers

• 2+ years of experience deploying and maintaining containerized and serverless applications and services on cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

• A proven track record of designing and developing well-designed, thoroughly tested, secure, and documented software solutions

Extra points if you have

• Experience building integrations with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner

• A solid understanding of the healthcare industry, including familiarity with current trends and challenges in health tech

Note: This is a hybrid role and as we grow our office footprint it will require 2-3 days of in-office work each week. Our office in NYC (Manhattan). We offer flexibility within this framework to balance the benefits of remote work with the collaboration of an in-person setting.

The pay range for this role is:

180,000 - 195,000 USD per year (New York Office)
