What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for making Tableau Cloud highly available and scalable to meet the demands of Enterprises. Tableau Cloud is a hosted visual analysis product suite which allows people to share rich interactive stories about data. Thousands to millions of people will use your software, either directly by creating and contributing content, or indirectly by encountering it embedded into other sites on the Internet.

Some of the things you'll be doing include

  • Ensuring Tableau Online meets the functional requirements of large Enterprise customers. This work will require expanding the capabilities of existing services, as well as building new ones to meet our customer's needs.

  • Work with existing team to ensure that their services are meet the need of Enterprise customers.

  • Become a champion for cloud first architecture across the company. Help influence other teams to ensure that their solutions scale to meet the continuing demands of the Online world.

    You have solid development skills with object oriented languages (Java, C++, C#) and preferably web technologies and development tools (HTML, CSS, Javascript) as well. Ideally you have experience developing large-scale cloud applications.

  • Dev-Ops mindset. You are engaged in all aspects of software deployment, and think beyond just getting your code checked in.

    You build and run a highly polished test and release pipeline, and have a bias for automation. You relentlessly hunt down and eradicate inefficiencies and manual processes.

  • Highly Technical. You understand what it takes to write software that is used by thousands or millions of people. You love writing things that "just work" things that are robust, scalable, and that perform well.

  • A True Team Player. Team success and company impact is more important to you than personal recognition.

    You challenge established ideas and encourage others to challenge yours. You care more about the right thing and less about being perceived as right.
