Job Description and Duties

This position is Hybrid and eligible for telework up to three days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under general direction of the Assistant Chief, the Staff Services Manager II serves as the State Fleet Asset Manager responsible for the oversight and management of the state's motor vehicle fleet to support state agencies' transportation needs. Through subordinate supervisors, the State Fleet Asset Manager manages the Metrics, Analytics, Reporting and Telematics Unit, Fleet Asset Management Unit, Policy Development and Compliance Unit, and Inspection Services Units statewide.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.
