Virtual interviews via web portals or phone may be offered as deemed appropriate and feasible by the hiring manager - standard in-person interviews will still be offered if conditions permit.

Under the general direction of a Program and Project Supervisor, the individual filling the position will:

  • Review and evaluate California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) infrastructure grant and line extension proposals and assist analysts with preparing resolutions and ministerial letters to recommend approval of funding for broadband projects.

  • Monitor progress of CASF projects by reviewing progress reports and sending information requests to grantees as needed.

  • Analyze and process state video franchise applications, amendments, transfers, and renewals, and issue franchises, as required by program guidelines for the Digital Infrastructure and Video Competition Act (DIVCA).

  • Respond to inquiries from video franchisees, CASF applicants and grantees, stakeholders, members of the public and other governmental agencies as needed.

  • Enter project information and data from service providers into various online documents and storage repositories, perform updates and maintain accuracy of documents and storage systems using Microsoft tools such as File Explorer and SharePoint.

  • Organize, process, and track administrative timekeeping information for the BVM Branch. Process and publish Communications Divisions resolutions and track and distribute resolution files.

  • Support and assist BVM staff with planning, managing, tracking, and analyzing various tasks and assignments including but not limited to the Annual Report, biennial performance audit and statutorily required Annual CASF Workshop.
