RTW:

The Field Return-to-Work Coordinator (RTWC) works collaboratively with statewide stakeholders to assist with non-industrial disability, Workers' Compensation (WC), and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA). The position requires a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees and the public both verbally and in writing, and interpret and apply laws, regulations, and departmental policy. The RTWC is required to develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment, completes assignments in a timely and efficient manner, and adheres to all departmental policies and procedures unique to the correctional setting.

ISU:

The analyst will independently gather, update, analyze and track status of events such as: use of force incidents, riots, suspected felonious criminal activity, any incident resulting in serious bodily injury, great bodily injury, or a suspicious death; sexual assault allegations, allegations of sexual misconduct (i.e., Serious Rules Violation Reports by staff); allegations of staff misconduct by an inmate, employee, visitor, or other person; incidents that may potentially be referred to the District Attorney's Office. The analyst will be responsible in adhering to the requirements of the 5-Prison Order Document Production (CDCR 2140 Log).

  • Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

  • Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Working Conditions

This is a Correctional Institution open 24 hours/7days a week, all positions will be office centered.

Until 1987, CIW was California's only prison for female felons. It was originally called "Frontera," a feminine derivative of the word frontier - a new beginning. The campus-like design was in keeping with the 1950's progressive notion of rehabilitation.

The primary mission of the California Institution for Women is to provide a safe and secure environment for primarily Level I/III female offenders. This mission is further defined by our responsibility to provide quality health care and institution programs specifically geared to meet the special needs of female offenders. Specialized programs include academic and vocational programs, pre-release and substance abuse programming, pre-forestry and camp training, an arts in corrections program and a wide variety of inmate self-help groups and community betterment projects.

Special Requirements

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
