Purpose:

A member of the engineering staff who performs research, analysis, and design of wireless modems and/or radios. Works closely with Project Engineers, taking an advisory role in providing technical design expertise and complex technical calculations, including RF link budgets.

Responsibilities:

• Research architecture requirements for cutting edge Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) designs.

• Develop system level and RF Performance requirements for the new radio architecture.

• Potential to lead a small team of Engineers to design, develop, and build tactical radio modules.

• Ensure compliance with ITU/NTIA spectrum standards.

Core Competencies:

• Shown track-record of innovation in the area of wireless SDR modem/radio design.

• Highly qualified modem systems engineer.

• Deep knowledge of communication system theory, wireless systems, and digital modem design.

• RF Analysis Experience

Desired:

• Symbol rate throughput, latency, and spectral occupancy analysis, optimization, and regulatory compliance

• Transmit and receive pulse shaping digital filter design

• Carrier/symbol clock offset tracking and recovery

• Familiarity with baseband firmware and hardware development including sub-component and component verification.

• Experience with Matlab and Python for algorithm modeling and development and link-level simulation.

• RF Link Analysis in line-of-sight, beyond line of sight, and satellite communications

Educational Requirements:

• MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7+ years' experience with a focus on modem and/or radio design
