Summary:

The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.

The Staff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice 2nd Edition (2010).

Responsibilities:

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification through the National Certification Corporation(NCC) is required within 18 months from date of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

FTE: 0.700000 * 1.0 FTE is Full-Time any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time* * Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical dental and vision benefits* Shift: Shift 3 Work hours will include some 8-hour shifts (2300-0730) and some 12-hour shifts (1900-0730). Rotating weekend and holiday schedule. Summary: Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse the OB Technician performs a variety of routine duties within the obstetric department including organization of environment maintenance of equipment assisting with operative/delivery room procedures basic tasks necessary to provide for care comfort and safety of patients and clerical support. Responsible to the Labor and Delivery Leadership Charge Nurses and the RN's on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: * Previous experience as a Surgical Tech or OB Tech is strongly preferred. * High School Diploma or equivalent a * One of the following is required: State of Wisconsin licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification; or completion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program or completion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technologist Program. * In addition American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Other information: Knowledge of basic anatomy physiology and medical terminology is required.
