Staff RN - Cardiac Evaluation Center - Full Time/Days

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Evaluation Clinic Registered Nurse has expertise in Cardiovascular Disease, with a sound knowledge base not only in the disease itself, but in medication management, heart disease risk factors, lifestyle choices, in patient behavior, and how it relates to the patient specific disease and its management. He/she, under the supervision of the Nurse clinical Coordinator, will provide a safe and comprehensive care to patients arriving to the Cardiac Evaluation Clinic.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

1.Acts as team member for the Cardiac Evaluation Clinic.

2.Proficiently analyzes and performs laboratory duties, including adhering to the Warfarin dosing policy.

3.Performs other RN duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

A. Current and Active Kentucky RN License required.

B. BSN preferred.

C. Must maintain an active BCLS card through the American Heart Association.

D. Must maintain an active ACLS card through the American Heart Association.

E. Knowledge and skills that include exercise adaptation and prescriptions, cardiovascular assessments, ECG interpretations, pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease, current medical and surgical treatments, risk factor reduction strategies, and emergency procedures.

F. 1 year critical care, emergency room, and/or cath lab experience preferred.
