Cherry Hospital is recruiting for permanent full-time Psychologist positions.  Our 24 hour in-patient facility serves adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

The position provides direct service to patients through assessments, psychological testing, individual and group psychotherapy as well as creation and management of individualized behavior plans.  This position also serves on special project committees as assigned by the supervisor/Psychology Director and supervises graduate psychology students as assigned.

Cherry Hospital (CH) is a State-of-the-Art psychiatric hospital located in a beautiful rural area of Goldsboro, NC.  Although rural, Cherry Hospital is convenient to the Triangle Area (Raleigh/Durham) and the coastal region of the state. It is about an hour's drive to the heart of Raleigh or the beautiful coastal town of New Bern.

• Requires broad-based knowledge of psychological theory and its applications in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.

• Thorough knowledge of core areas of normal and abnormal psychology including motivation, development, learning and psychotherapy.

• Skill in provision of comprehensive psychological evaluations using objective and projective measures is essential, as well as providing a wide array of therapeutic interventions for patients with major emotional and behavioral disturbances.

Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270).

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

"A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);

(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;

(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
