Staff Project Engineer
Launch innovations in nearly every commercial and defense aircraft platform
The Mechanical Systems & Components Actuation Group located in Tempe, Arizona has an immediate need for a Systems Staff Engineer to support the Design and Development of Defense and Space products.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Actuation Systems and will support the developing and delivering a variety of Mechanical Systems produced for D&S platforms. Products consist primarily of electromechanical and hydraulic actuation systems for rocket nozzle thrust vector control, flight control, missile fin, and marine actuation programs.
The successful candidate will lead the proposal efforts for engineering, develop pursuit's plans, generate the compliance matrices, and lead the generation of management, cost and technical proposal volumes. Candidate will be expected to provide written reports and oral presentations to program or engineering management and customers.
This position will be focused on driving the growth of the actuation systems group projects and enable increased speed to market of our products and offerings. It will require understanding of the defense and space actuation market, and identifying how to improve and better position Honeywell for expansion of our products. The candidate will occasionally lead or participate in discussions with customers so as to better understand their planning horizon needs, then will transform those customer needs into internal technical and programmatic requirements that shape how we define a product offering.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum 12 years of engineering experience.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with reviewing customer statements of work, data item requirements, and specification requirements
Experience with electromechanical and hydraulic systems
Experience with the requirements of high reliability designs for spaceflight applications is also desired.
Knowledge in SAP is preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of project management, control account management, and earned value.
Experience working with MS Project is a plus.
Positive, can-do attitude is required. Must work well as a member of a team, and adapt well to a changing environment.
Experience working with and presenting to customers' technical community to establish technical and programmatic needs and value.
