About the Role:

Are you a supply chain planning master whose expertise includes ensuring the materials and capacity align precisely and will support the production build? Do you possess a can-do attitude and bring an accomplished history in forecasting and driving the end-to-end planning process? Look no further than aligning with Seagate in our New Product Introduction (NPI) group as the Staff Program / Project Manager for Master Production Planning.

Reporting to the Senior Director of (NPI), you'll take ownership as the Master Production Planner (MPP) for the Enterprise Data Solutions pilot development manufacturing line. Specifically, you'll be tasked with the planning, scheduling coordinating and monitoring fulfillment from build start to delivery of product to the end users. Bringing a strength in project and program management is critical as you will establish MPR system planning parameters and support initial set-up of the required item master data.

On point is your proven and accomplished history with developing and implementing a Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system and then converting the engineering bills-of-material (EBOM) into an as built manufacturing bills-of-material (MBOM). This is a vital piece of the ownership as it enables MRP planning to drive procurement activity and establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. In short, you'll hold complete responsibility to ensure materials and capacity align to support development build schedules. As a dedicated professional, you'll proactively work with responsible staff to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. As well, strong attention to detail is imperative as you will be providing production plans consistent with the capacity and NPI build forecast. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Create a Master Production Plan for designated products.

  • Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times.

  • Perform supply demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern for the next 6 months.

  • Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis.

  • Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels in ensure high service levels.

  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric measuring production performance to the requested production schedule.

  • Review NPI build forecast with program managers on a monthly basis, and address conflicts in build scheduled

  • Update Master Production Plan as necessary

  • Document process improvements, determine metrics to measure success, monitor for performance and take corrective actions as required
