About the Role & Team:

As a Staff Product Designer for the Seller Experience space, you'll be a part of eBay's core design team. This role will envision and craft outstanding user experiences for the world's largest online marketplace with over 135 million shoppers and 25+ million sellers. Using design creativity and user-centered design principles, you will work with cross-functional teams that are reinventing the social, mobile, local commerce landscape on a grand scale to and address exciting new business opportunities. Your responsibility in this role is to craft elegant and simple interfaces that solve complex interaction problems. Strong interaction design skills underpinned by strong visual design and content design skills are required for this role. An understanding of how to operate as a designer in a highly cross-functional environment is critical for this role.

You'll need strong attention to detail as well as an eagerness to tackle design problems at scale. You should be knowledgeable about our competitors, understand established design patterns and standards methodologies, but always feel the need to do better. You'll make things elegant, beautiful, inquisitive - and drive engagement and loyalty to eBay. We work across the product development cycle and pride ourselves for solving really big problems with design thinking. You will collaborate with our data, design, product and engineering teams and be responsible for creating ideas, communications, and interface for the sellers experience.

What You Will Accomplish:

  • Create outstanding, user-centered designs incorporating business requirements, product findings, and customer feedback

  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes

  • Leverage eBay's existing design system into your solutions while also being able to thoughtfully contribute new additions to it

  • Participate in user research, testing and product discovery

  • Work with product managers to influence product strategy and create beautiful, scalable framework design solutions that delight our Sellers

  • Facilitation

  • Plan, coordinate and lead workshops and design sprints with cross functional partners and teams to gain alignment on new initiatives and product strategy

What You Will Bring:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Product Design and BS Degree in interaction design, HCI, industrial design, graphic design, visual communications or equivalent

  • Ability to prepare effective presentations in content and function, and to speak competently to the level of the audience

  • Experience partnering with developers seeing your work through production and iterating on it post launch based on qualitative and quantitative metrics

  • Specialist in designing across multiple devices from mobile, tablet, and desktop while keeping accessibility requirements in mind

  • Expert level skills in design and prototyping tools (ie: Figma)

  • A portfolio that showcases relevant design projects and includes your process, design explorations and final work

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience designing for eCommerce platforms

  • Experience designing SaaS applications

  • Experience building advanced prototypes in Figma

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$149,200 - $234,850

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
