Primary responsibilities include design of pipelines and related facilities. Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard pipeline engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may involve a variety of complex features. Requires general knowledge of precedents in specialty areas and familiarity with basic principles and practices in related specialties. May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments.

May coordinate the production of design and construction documents including alignment sheets, P&ID drawings and specifications. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program. At least three years of pipeline design experience is required.

Experience with pipeline modeling software such as AFT or SynderGEE. Must have the ability to travel. Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Requires knowledge of pipeline design codes and safety requirements including ASME B31.4 & B31.8 as well as 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.

Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous consulting experience preferred. EIT.

VIEW JOBS 10/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-15T00:00 The Staff Civil Engineer will work on project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Staff Civil Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. * Perform civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. * Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities. * Design civil components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers. * Applies strong knowledge of commonly used civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering services industry. * Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers. Compiles studies and reports. Writes specifications. * Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software. * Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities. * Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients. * All other duties as assigned. * Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. * Or Bachelor of Science in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. * Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience. * 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred. * Successful completion (i.e.passing) FE or EIT preferred. * Strong knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques and procedures. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. * Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) * Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs. * Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
