As a PillPack Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical services to PillPack customers in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety. You will also participate in and oversee the dispensing of medication in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.

WHAT WILL I WORK ON EVERY DAY?

  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration

  • Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician as appropriate

  • Provide quality customer service to co workers

  • Maintain patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including over the counter and home remedies)

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as needed

  • Document all communication with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team and patients and their family members

  • Implement policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution, and use of drugs and biological, as well as disposal of drugs

  • Obtain, as necessary, and maintain all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies

  • Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities

  • Performs other tasks assigned

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO I NEED TO SUCCEED?

  • Active and unrestricted NH Pharmacist License

  • Must be able to work rotating 10 hour shifts, including weekends

  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal and state regulations concerning patient care

  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team

  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the dispensing of medications. Verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements. Works closely with patients in order to answer all questions and/or concerns regarding their prescriptions. Reviews and evaluates patient#s plan of care for obvious conflicts. Monitors the overall performance of staff members to ensure compliance with policies, practices and approved pharmaceutical dispensing processes. Makes recommendations to the manager regarding any changes to operating procedures in an effort to facilitate smooth customer service operations. Responds to customer inquiries, requests and issues when situations get escalated to a higher level of authority other than a customer service associate. Supervises activities relative to customer files and contacts, ensuring that they are updated as needed to comply with current licensing. Supervises pharmacy technicians directly. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE # SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction. Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services and drug interactions.
