STAFF PHARMACIST - PER DIEM
DEL AMO HOSPITAL
Hours: Position requires a commitment to work at least 2 days (Monday thru Sunday) every 2 months including 4-9 weekends per year. Some On-Call required.
As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services(CPS) Staff Pharmacist you will provide support for clinical programs and practices within the hospital as well as fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. The Pharmacy is managed by CPS.
The Director and the Per Diem Staff Pharmacist are employees of CPS. Other staff are hospital employees. The Pharmacy is open from 8am-4:30pm M-Sat and 8am-Noon on Sun.
Order entry is via Amigos Dos system. Implementation of zebra printers is planned. Clinical services include clinical interventions. The Pharmacy Staff work as a team in a friendly, family environment and have a strong partnership with other healthcare staff.

Pharmacy Degree (BS or PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy
CA Pharmacist licensure in good standing
Minimum 1-year experience as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Intern in a retail setting and a minimum 1-year experience in a hospital setting. Some knowledge of Psychiatric Medications.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns.
Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff, including Technicians. Able to give positive feedback when errors occur.
Demonstrated skill in using computers and computer software and applications
Good communication and people skills.
