The TEASC Program is an interdisciplinary team who provide consultative services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), and is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse/RN to join the team.

This position will manage and assist current staff with referrals and intakes for TEASC collaborative clinics. This will include taking histories, nursing assessments, and participating in team clinical evaluations. We are seeking an individual with background and interest in serving the IDD population as well as experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The TEASC team also provides training and mentoring for students, residents, and community providers in best practices for individuals with IDD. This position may include completing applications for Nursing CE's as appropriate for trainings.

Conditions of Employment

  • CPR Certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of date of hire.

  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

  • IV Certification within 6 months of hire may be required for some positions in this classification, depending on the individual needs of the department

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program; no previous experience required. Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferences:

Significant experience and interest in serving patients/clients with IDD.

Experience working in an interdisciplinary clinical team.

Experience scheduling and completing intakes for interdisciplinary clinics, working closely with clinical team to implement recommendations and follow up.

Experience working in UNM/UNMH clinical systems, including Cerner, Citrix, PowerChart, and Tiger Text.

Experience completing applications for Nursing CEs, as well as processing and maintaining certificates of completion as well as any necessary documentation required by NM Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements This is a term position and extended each year based on continued funding.
