Staff Nurse

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Staff Nurse in Nursing at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/ Eric B. Chandler Health Center.

The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to administer nursing care based on the individual needs of patients and their families, in accordance with professional nursing standards. Assists Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Managers in administering patient care as instructed or assigned.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Assists with day-to-day supervision and management of nursing personnel in assigned unit.

• Supervises staff assigned to unit.

• Administers direct care to patients.

• Provides triage advice and guidance in accordance with the Health Center's established policies and procedures for patients and their families.

• Responds to emergency situations.

• Communicates plan of care to the patient, and assists in the organization of medication and treatment regimens, referrals and appointment, etc.

• Provides patient and family education.

• Maintains continuity of care with patients admitted to area hospitals.
