The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with all interdisciplinary team members including nurses, nurse practitioners, anesthesiologists and perioperative team.

  • Assisting in the coordination of patient care services within other disciplines of the healthcare system

  • Reviewing patients' medical/surgical history and outside records in the EMR to identify potential perioperative risk factors.

  • Performing telephone history/assessment to include review of systems, medication list, patient education, and implementing perioperative plan.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing

  • 3 years of Pediatric RN experience in Perioperative or Surgical Inpatient programs

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills in addition to proficient multi-tasking abilities

  • Excellent computer/keyboarding skills

Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for: * Providing care for patients on the Cardiac Surgery Intermediate Care Unit. * Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment. To qualify you must have: * Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. For newly licensed nurses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required. * Experience: * Current transplant experience required. * A minimum of 1 year telemetry and cardiology experience required. * Current cardiac surgery and VAD experienced required. * Other: Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged. * Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
