Novant Health is hiring a hospital at home registered nurse for the 12 hour night shift for our New Hanover Regional Medical Center location in Wilmington, NC.

Schedule: Full-Time, .9FTE, 72 Hours per 2 weeks, 12 hour night, 7p-7a

We're seeking a registered nurse to join our team in our new hospital at home department. In this position, you will work closely with paramedics and connect with patients virtually.

You will work from a command center in the hospital and assess patient needs. We are a very supportive team and this is an exciting new program we are launching at Novant Health.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.

  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.

  • One-year of acute nursing experience required.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate refined assessment skills integrating subjective and objective data, physical and psychosocial components, preferences, and learning needs. Utilize ongoing interpretation to determine immediate and future care needs.

  • Engage in dialogue with patients and support systems to identify priorities and preferences. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish individualized care plans, set goals, and prioritize interventions.

  • Act as a patient advocate, collaborating with the healthcare team to educate and progress patient care. Administer treatments, perform nursing interventions, and respond to critical situations effectively.

  • Continuously assess patient progress towards goals, seeking input from patients and support systems. Analyze and modify care plans with interdisciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Effectively communicate care plans and patient progress to all stakeholders. Utilize appropriate communication tools and document information in a timely manner.
