DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS The staff RN is a registered, professional nurse who is responsible for providing individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. The staff RN has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of the patient population served. The nurse coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians and allied health care providers. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) Experience: Previous experience preferred. Education and Training: Associate#s degree in nursing required, BSN preferred. License, Certification

Experience:
Previous experience preferred.
Education and Training:
Associate's degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
RN License
Other Requirements:
Ability to function independently under general guidance of the Director and follows the guidelines and protocols and/or policies and protocols specific to each unit. Duties require independent action and judgment. Utilizes time management, communication, planning, delegating, and problem solving in providing care. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Must maintain emotional stability in emergency settings.
Other Addendum(s) Requirements
CPR
Three years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred.
Current and comprehensive wound care experience preferred.
Ability to work with Physician to prioritize care.
Must be able to treat seven to ten patients within an 8 hour period and complete orientation within 60 hours or PRN as needed for competencies.
Will also provide assessment, care, education and treatment to patients with non-healing wounds.
