Job Title: Staff Nurse

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The Staff Nurse
  • Emergency Department is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.
  • As a Staff Nurse
  • Emergency Department, you will be responsible for managing the care of the patients coming for treatment in the Emergency Room
  • Assists in development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and nursing professional practice in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory agency requirements

  • Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered and applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions

  • Provides direct, continuous care for a specific caseload of patients through application of the nursing process - based upon theory, research, and approved Department of Nursing and institutional standards

  • Coordinates patient care activities, based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning, and directs/delegates appropriately to members of the health care team.

  • This position reports directly to the Emergency Department Nurse Manager.

Requirements:

  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, place patients and families first, and collaborate with team members who are recognized leaders within health care

  • At least one year of acute care RN experience required, ; extraordinary New Graduate RN's will be considered

  • 2 years of Medical / Surgical or Telemetry RN experience preferred

  • 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred

  • BLS / BCLS and ACLS /PALS certifications required

  • TNCC certification preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing / BSN required for all Clinical RN positions Exception: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing graduates considered for identified specialized areas of practice; Current matriculation in a BSN program with graduation date within one year of hire is required for consideration

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse / RN license (or willingness and eligibility to obtain)

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $102,384.53 - $152,841.30 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Healing made personal.</p><p>Job Title: Business Associate A</p><p>Req#2812558</p><p>Job Summary: Responsible for the business aspects of a patient's stay, as well as patient-focused care within the Medical Center. Duties include: maintaining census data, scheduling tests and medical procedures, receiving and maintaining inventory, and other duties.</p><p>Roles &amp; Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Pre-admits patients to the Medical Center, including taking reservations, obtaining demographic, insurance, and other pertinent data, discussing state mandatory regulations, and in general what is to be expected upon admission.</p></li><li><p>Admits patients to the Medical Center, including verifying demographic and insurance information, signing forms, collecting deposits, and obtaining authorizations as necessary.</p></li><li><p>Functions as liaison to insurance companies and the Medicaid Eligibility Office, including screening requests for medical necessity, obtaining prior authorizations when required, pre-certifying admissions, and assisting in the document collection.</p></li><li><p>Maintains census and charge data, updating all prevailing systems and compiling information for charge capture.</p></li><li><p>Schedules appropriate tests and medical procedures and follow-up appointments.</p></li><li><p>Assists in the chart completion process by maintaining and discharging charts in proper order, compiling deficiency data, and working with physicians to complete charts.</p></li><li><p>Greets visitors and answers telephones promptly and courteously.
