Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities -- HIGHLY PREFERRED
One (1) year in cardiac and nuclear stress testing
New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Provides care based on scientific principles, nursing theory and evidence-based practice.
Provides care to patients that is caring, compassionate and that exceeds expectations.
Responds effectively to emergencies and adjust priorities as necessary.
Utilizes critical thinking in decision making and in the provision of care.
Develops a plan of care for patients.
Administers medications as per protocol. Reports medication errors promptly.
Provides activities of daily living needs.
Keeps patients clean and dry. Turns and positions patients. Utilizes pressure reduction devices as appropriate.
Reassess patient at least every four hours (q4h) and more often based on patient's condition.
Assesses and documents patient's pain and pain management per protocol.
Assesses and documents patient's skin and skin care management as per protocol.
Administers blood transfusion and documents on the transfusion record as per protocol.
Explains procedures to patients, prepares for, performs and assists in procedures.
Communicates and receives accurate patient information during hand-off at change shift, when assigned a new patient and when transferring a patient.
Completely and accurately counts narcotics at the end of the shift as assigned.
Completes triage assessment and directs patients to the appropriate treatment area.
Makes suggestions for and participates in quality/performance improvement activities as guided by the Nurse Manager.
