S&ME seeks a motivated and passionate Staff Industrial Hygienist to join our Environmental team in Charleston, South Carolina. Are you ready to contribute your education and knowledge to meaningful projects? Join us at S&ME!

As a Staff Industrial Hygienist, your role involves performing both field and office work associated with industrial hygiene under the supervision of certified industrial hygienists (CIHs) and other experienced environmental health and safety (EHS) professionals.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Field Activities: Conducting industrial hygiene projects, including traditional employee exposure monitoring for various chemicals, particulates, noise, mold/moisture, indoor environmental quality assessments (IEQ), and asbestos/lead-based paint building assessments.

  • Office Tasks: Preparing data tables and reports, and maintaining and calibrating sampling equipment.

  • Health and Safety Assessments: Assisting experienced industrial hygienists with health and safety assessments and sampling.

  • Data Management: Supporting office activities related to data management and report preparation for industrial hygiene projects.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related sciences

  • 1-4 years of experience with industrial hygiene field sampling

  • The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and willingness to accommodate periodic travel with overnight assignments

  • Experience with Industrial Hygiene employee exposure monitoring

  • Mold and IEQ sampling experience

  • Asbestos Inspector License, a plus

  • Lead-based Paint experience or accreditations, a plus
