About The Team

The UX Design team at Noah Medical is dedicated to the development of safe, usable and delightful experiences for our users across hardware and software. We deeply collaborate with the product, clinical engineering, software and hardware engineering, and regulatory teams to define future Noah Medical products, as well as improvements to existing products. Whether it's field research, in-depth user interviews, explorative design work or detailed design work throughout implementation into verification and validation testing, the UX Design team is involved on a daily basis.

A Day In The Life Of Our Staff Human Factors Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Champion and take responsibility for user-centered product development working on new features or improvements to ensure safe, usable, and compliant user experiences.

  • Contribute to a cross-functional team interacting frequently with design, clinical engineering, software, hardware, and regulatory teams.

  • Lead - and ultimately own - usability work from start to finish with support of clinical engineering and systems engineering teams including preparation, moderation, and reporting of formative and summative evaluations.

  • Support early and explorative user-research as part of the development of new features or improvements

  • Distill research insights into themes that inform user needs, risk assessment, and UI design

  • Own usability engineering filing, uFMEA and risk analysis activities

  • Act as the internal expert and advisor on human factors best practices and methodologies

About you

  • BA or MA in Human Factors or equivalent degree

  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience

  • Deep understanding of ISO and IEC standards related to human factors (ie. IEC 606601-1-6, 62366, ISO 14971) and FDA guidelines

  • You catch edge cases or use error scenarios before anyone else does and systematically work through a solution that satisfies all stakeholders

  • Experience and comfortable working on class 2 medical devices

  • You're a self-starter and hold your own in a cross-functional team

  • Passionate about driving forward best practices, motivating others, and leading by example

  • Excellence in preparing, conducting and reporting user evaluations

  • Ability to aggregate and synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources

Ideally

  • You've gone through a full cycle of class 2 medical device development through to successful market introduction

  • You have experience working in endoluminal surgical robotics

  • You have experience working across hardware and software development
