Role Summary:

Enterprise Application Lead would be the candidate that can design and implement ALM tools and processes to continuously improve our use of ALM including enterprise integrations to other systems. The lead is expected to drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication and leveraging product and technology. She/he is expected to work independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business.

Essential Responsibilities:

Design and implement tools and processes to continuously improve our use of ALM, eApprove workflow and integrations

Strong track record & Administration Experience with ALM, Testing and CI/CD tools such as Git/Jenkins

Lead & Support automation and integration of tools within our tools ecosystem

Strong Leadership & Engagement with user community and be an evangelist to drive the enforcement of ALM policies and propagate ALM best practices

Leverage knowledge to improve scale and performance of applications

Create automation tools and scripts that enhance and expand our ALM services capabilities to interface with other tools in the ecosystem

Evaluate industry best practices and new technologies to drive effective adoption and implementation.

Collaborate with cross-functions teams to drive solutions

Lead and drive system migration to public and hybrid cloud like AWS.

Responsible for gathering requirements, data and process mapping, creation of scripts/tools to facilitate the migration.

Provide roadmap for ALM application and propose and lead efforts to transition from ALM to Microfocus Octane.

Provide solutions to migration from legacy applications like IBM Doors, RequistePro and Clearquest

Maintain & support existing integrations with other tools like Perforce, Etymo, etc.

Available to quickly respond and resolve critical service outages severely impacting consumers

Establish performance baseline, capacity thresholds, correlate events, and define monitoring/alerting criteria

Develop automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption

Provide impact assessment and mitigation plan for changes going into the production environment

Investigate root cause of severe and systemic outages, identify corrective actions and apply across the platform

Develop availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services

Identify thresholds for all critical links in the data path to quickly isolate where imbalances may result in potential outages

Analyze failure points in services to model risk level and resolution steps if failure occurs. Assist in driving architecture enhancements into system to mitigate potential failure points

Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs

Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity

Programmatically monitor for and remediate configuration drift of critical services

Perform comprehensive operational health checks of the entire services to identify areas of concern and track activities to drive improvements at all levels of the architecture

Provide technical coaching and direction to more junior teammates

Work closely with vendor support teams for technical and functional issues,

Interacting directly with other cross-functional support teams for timely resolution of production application issues

Ensure conformance to generic ALM & eApprove workflow Operations support standards / practices

Responsible for internal IT processes like Change Control Board, patch application testing, coordination and communication for outages etc.

Serve as domain and ALM platform expert and drive / be accountable for operational excellence as well as stabilization of Operations

Should be able to guide and direct the operations team utilizing his/her expertise and assisting the team for any roadblocks

Build strong team relationships with multiple stakeholders including product owners, QAs, VMs, business SPOCS, support teams, IT, and end users.

Maintain effective relationships with peers and vendors to integrate the program into the strategic organization objectives and activities

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development OR Master's degree with 6 years of experience in software development OR PhD with 3 years of experience in software development

Eligibility Requirements:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Chicago, IL

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

Excellent knowledge of Windows and Unix / Linux Administration

Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on public clouds such as AWS or Azure

Experience using an automated configuration management system ( Terraform, Chef, Puppet etc)

Experience with configuring, customizing and extending monitoring tools ( Sensu, Grafana, Splunk)

Enthusiastic to find ways to make customers successful

Obsessive about application uptime, availability and reliability while being proactive about everything

Strong programming expertise in at least one language like C#, VB, .Net, Python, Java

Require in-depth knowledge of Microfocus Toolset including ALM, UFT, etc. with supporting APIs, integrations, workflows and extensions

Good knowledge of SQL and databases

Ability to manage & monitor application services on Linux platform, NAS, firewalls, scheduled jobs, processes, etc.

Expert in Web technologies like REST, SOAP and XML/Json.

Good understanding of Tx3 (formerly Genelogix) eApprove workflow

Experience working on software projects in the Healthcare domain

Good knowledge of FDA compliance for Healthcare industry. Practical working experience in handling CSV & GxP applications.

Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members

Personal Attributes:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity

Ability to work under minimal supervision

Effective team building and problem solving abilities
